New roles for Geoff and Michelle

Natural Decisions congratulates team members Geoff Park and Michelle Dickson on their recent appointments to public boards and committees in the Natural Resource Management sector in Victoria.

Geoff has been appointed as a member of the Victorian Catchment Management Council (VCMC) while Michelle was recently appointed to the Gippsland Coastal Board (GCB) and the Gippsland Lakes Coordinating Committee.

The VCMC is the Victorian Government’s key advisory body on catchment management. As an independent, expert body, the Council is well placed to influence change in working towards its vision for catchment management in Victoria, taking a statewide, long-term and strategic view.

The Gippsland Coastal Board is one of three regional coastal boards in Victoria. The GCB aims to facilitate improved coastal management through liaison with industry, government and the community. It’s principal role is to implement the Victorian Coastal Strategy and Regional Coastal Action Plan and provide advice to the minister and the Victorian Coastal Council. The Gippsland Lakes Coordinating Committee has focus on improving the health of the lakes through on ground management activities and community engagement and will oversee the expenditure of funds allocated in the 2015-16 Victorian budget.

Geoff and Michelle are looking forward to making a greater contribution to Natural Resource Management in Victoria and tackling some important policy challenges through their new roles.
